Since the new administration took office in 2017, there have been attacks by those in power against science, an escalating agenda of exploitation of the natural world, hatred, and xenophobia. "Burning the Cloud" speaks to the power of hot air and hatred, tied inevitably to attacks on science, free thought, and environmental protection. All things are connected; 1933 was the year Hitler became chancellor. I'm encouraged by the 2018 mid-term elections and hope we will continue engaged and courageous.
